The legendary 991 GT3 was based on the 977-generation of 911, powered by a gutsy 3.6 litre naturally aspirated flat six engine. It was originally brought to the European market in 1999, proving itself as a force to be reckoned by it’s feat of lapping the Nürburgring-Nordschleife in less than 8 minutes, making it one of the first production cars to achieve this.
It was track focused, with huge 18-inch wheels and tyres, differing from the 911 Carrera with larger brakes, upgraded suspension and a reduction in ride height.
In 2003 the 991 GT3 was brought to Australia, after receiving some serious updates. By the time it reached Australia, it’s horsepower had grown to 381, it’s torque increased from 273 lb-ft to 285 lb-ft. Then in 2014 it adopted the seven-speed Porsche dual clutch transmission (PDK), one of the biggest advancements of any sports car seen on the road.
The CAPRISTO high performance racing exhaust system for the 991 GT3 acts as a balanced increase between power, drive ability and sound quality, without forgetting of course a substantial loss of weight.
